Our Story

The Workroom

(wûrk ro͞om) nn

1.a building , such as a workshop or studio, where work is done

The Workroom was fueled by the passion of two forever inspired designers, Jennifer Tidwell and Stephanie Thill, who dreamt of creating a design experience that brings people together in an inspiring space to beautify their lives. That dream became a reality with the availability of a studio and shoppe space located blocks from their homes and in the heart of a residential neighborhood in Mill Valley, CA. The rich history of the building as a gathering and creative space in its previous lives, the incredible bones, and the creative energy that it exudes inspired them to go for it. They are not only professional designers and entrepreneurs, but also mothers who have created stunningly stylish, yet comfortable and cozy homes fit for the way their own families live and play. As community members in the creative epicenter of Marin County, CA, they are surrounded by style-conscious people who want to do the same. Jennifer and Stephanie invite you to make The Workroom your own space for realizing your home design dreams.

Design Team

There’s no home styling or design project too big or small to bring to The Workroom. From décor to full home renovations, this team of professional designers will deliver for you, with endless amounts of style

Stephanie Thill

Stephanie is The Workroom’s resident tastemaker, and an accomplished merchandiser, buyer and product developer. She spent over 12 years as a merchant in both the textiles and furniture categories with PB Teen, Pottery Barn Kids, and Williams Sonoma Home. She ardently studied interior design before opening her first design business called Simply Chic Designs.  Stephanie’s inspiration hails from her French-Algerian heritage and a smart, stylish mother who exposed her early on to the flair of the French and pure elegance. She spent a lot of time as a young girl in Paris, taking in all the beauty and joie de vivre. None of that was lost on Stephanie whose passions have continued to evolve from fashion and culture to a devotion to home design and décor. She has orchestrated incredible partnerships with local artisans and notable designers for exclusive lines for the shoppe and is focused on curating the collection for The Workroom, finding new and vintage gems to offer to her clients. Meet Stephanie at the shoppe, to help you style and refine your space.
