design Associate

We’re looking to hire an experienced Interior Designer to join the The Workroom team! We need someone that is extremely detail oriented with strong communication skills. Our designers manage projects from start to finish under the direction of The Workroom’s co-founder and Principal Designer, Jennifer Tidwell. We expect our designers to be up to date with the latest finishes and furnishings as well as what’s trending in the industry. Each designer manages multiple projects and it is their responsibility to ensure the process runs smoothly. You will create, manage, and implement every step of client projects - sourcing products and materials, communicating with vendors and contractors, creating mood boards and design boards, problem solving, and project installations. We have a very fast-paced environment and expect a very high level of work from our team.

Our designers use AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator every single day.

You will meet with clients, talk with vendors and contractors, collaborate with other designers on the team.

Here is what we are looking for: 

  • 4-5 years of interior design experience ideal.

  • Source products and materials for design presentations.

  • Manage client profiles and product selection in IVY application.

  • Strong communication skills to consult directly with vendors and clients.

  • The ability to work as a team.

  • A great attitude and willingness to learn and take on any kind of project for the design and retail side of the business.

  • Strong AutoCAD skills.

  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills.

  • A solid understanding of Adobe Photoshop.

  • Strong knowledge of trade sources.

  • Extreme attention to detail.

  • Great communication and experience consulting directly with clients.

  • Confidence and ability to communicate your ideas clearly.

  • Strong leadership and self-motivation.

  • Great multi-tasking skills.

  • Commitment- Full-time position - 40 hour a week commitment, paid at an hourly rate. Typical hours 9-6pm.


design Assistant

We’re looking to hire a Design Assistant to join the The Workroom team! We need someone that is extremely detail oriented with strong communication skills. In this position you will be responsible for order processing, sourcing materials, managing shipments and following on orders from our vendors. You will manage projects and your responsibilities under the direction of The Workroom’s co-founder and Principal Designer, Jennifer Tidwell. This is a great learning opportunity to learn about the design process and what the latest finishes and furnishings are trending in the industry. The design assistant will manages multiple projects and it is their responsibility to ensure the process runs smoothly. We have a very fast-paced environment and expect a very high level of work from our team. You will meet with clients, talk with vendors and contractors, collaborate with other designers on the team. 

  • 1-2 years of interior design experience ideal

  • Source products and materials for design presentations; pull materials from SF Design Center.

  • Manage client profiles and product selection in IVY application.

  • Strong communication skills to consult directly with vendors and clients.

  • Place and track orders and assist in product invoicing.

  • Willingness to help with both the store operation and design business. Share in the responsibility of working with clients in the store including customer check out and on design projects.

  • The ability to work as a team.

  • A great attitude and willingness to learn and take on any kind of project for the design and retail side of the business.

  • Drafting in AutoCAD a plus, but not required.

  • Commitment- Full-time position - 40 hour a week commitment, paid at an hourly rate. Typical hours 9-6pm.

  • A car, valid driver’s license and cell phone.


 

Sales Associate

This position should provide customers with their best service experience in an unique shopping environment. You will be the face of The Workroom and interacting with our customer  base coming in. We are looking for someone who is creative and design obsessed like we are!

Your responsibilities:

  • Fun and approachable personality that is comfortable working with helping customers teach them about our product and helping with design challenges.

  • Understands how to connect our customers  with The Workroom brand.

  • Maintain The Workroom aesthetic in the store with visual merchandising, pricing and general upkeep.

  • Accurately processes sales, returns and exchanges.

  • Communicates to management inventory needs.

  • 1-2 years of retail experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • A positive, happy individual who will contribute to the team

  • Open availability and flexibility to meet the needs of the business
